Who we are
About Apex Writers
We work with powersports, automotive and RV dealers on the F&I side of the business, the part that happens after the customer has already decided to buy. Single-point stores and groups.
What we believe about F&I
The F&I office is the highest-margin room in most dealerships and the least examined. It gets attention when the numbers drop and is otherwise left to run itself, which is how a store ends up with a menu nobody chose, a pay plan nobody rewrote, and a process that exists mainly in the head of whoever is currently doing the job.
We think the reason training has a poor reputation in this industry is that it is usually sold as an event. Someone comes in, the room is enthusiastic, production lifts, and a month later it is back. That is not a failure of the people in the room. It is what happens when a presentation is improved and nothing behind it changes.
So we work the product, the process and the people together, and we hand the material over when we are done. If the training only works while we are in the building, it was never worth buying.
Our Process
How we work
Four things are true of every engagement, and they are the ones worth knowing before you call.
We tell you what we find
The assessment output is what we actually saw, including the parts that are awkward and the parts that mean you do not need us. A finding held back to protect a proposal is not worth having.
It is built on your store
Your menu, your system, your mix, your market. A generic curriculum has to be translated by your people on every deal, and that friction is most of why training wears off.
The material stays with you
Turnover in the F&I office is normal. Training that leaves with the person who received it has to be bought again every time somebody resigns.
We work all three markets separately
Powersports, automotive and RV buyers finance differently, keep the unit for different lengths of time and claim differently. Averaging them into one approach is how a store gets it wrong in two of the three.
Where we work
Most of the work happens in your building rather than ours. An assessment means someone standing in the F&I office looking at real deals, which is not something that can be done down a phone line.
That matters most for stores delivering to buyers who live somewhere else, because the paperwork that satisfies your home state is not automatically sound in the state the unit is going to. It is one of the first things we look at.
Start with an assessment
The menu, the paperwork, the handoff and the numbers. We tell you what we find either way.
